Pleatco, along with its co-sponsor, Genesis, has started their search for the top pool and spa service technicians in Canada and across the globe.
Now in its eight year, the Perfect Pool Guy/Gal contest, which sees more than 200 contestants, recognizes the hard-working men and women of the pool service industry. This year’s theme is ‘A working class hero is something to be,’ an expression penned by John Lennon, is this year’s theme, says Pleatco’s CMO, Battista Remati.
“This speaks to the very spirit of the contest, and we will be focusing on the Pool Gal nominations in particular in 2015,” he says.
Homeowners trust their pool and spa service professional to keep their backyard-oasis safe. Their relationship with the homeowner runs much deeper than that of the mail carrier or local handyperson in most cases, adds Pleatco’s CEO, Howard Smith
“Since we’ve sponsored this contest, we’ve learned that being a professional pool or spa service technician is more than a job… it’s a passion,” he adds. “Many homeowner’s treat their service ‘guy or gal’ like family; it’s a special relationship.”
Winners of this year’s contest will receive a trip for two to this November’s International Pool, Spa, and Patio Expo at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. Each winner will also get a $5000 continuing education scholarship from Genesis to attend the G3 Certified Service Professional Program.
“The service industry is extremely important when it comes to helping owners fully enjoy and appreciate their pools,” says Genesis president, Brian Van Bower. “We are proud to help honour our hard working service professionals.”
The contest opens July 17, and all entries will be accepted online at www.pleatco.com.
